The desert can be an interesting place, there is a lot of heat and in the night, there is a cold wind. In the searing heat the most important thing is water as there is little water there and when you see a mirage think twice, a mirage is the heat distorting the distant flat ground to create the illusion that there is water, unlike cartoons or movies mirages don’t make palm trees appear. People may say to go in the night as it is cold but that is far from recommended due to predators that hunt.
